WatchScribe
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
WatchScribe (the "Software") does not send the activity data it records outside your device. This policy sets out the information the Software stores on your device and the limited information that is sent to the Provider.
1. Information Stored Only on Your Device
The Software stores the following information in a database and files on your PC. None of it is sent to the Provider or to any third party.
- Activity records: The application name and window title of the active window, and idle (AFK) detection results.
- Browsing information: The domain and URL of the page currently open in your browser.
- Screenshots: Screen images captured according to your settings, and the text extracted from them.
- Input metrics: Keystroke and click counts (the characters you type are never recorded).
- Reports and aggregates: Generated daily reports, per-category aggregates, and the productivity score.
- Your settings: Manually added notes, category classification rules, exclusion rules, and other application settings.
- Logs: Logs of operation and errors, used only for troubleshooting.
Applications, window titles, and domains you do not want recorded can be registered as exclusion rules. Excluded targets are never recorded in the first place. You can also pause recording at any time.
2. Information Sent to the Provider
The Software communicates externally for only two purposes.
(1) Update check
To check whether a newer version is available, only the version number, platform, and architecture are sent. No activity data is included. This can be disabled in the settings screen.
(2) Account authentication and entitlement checks (when using Pro)
To sign in to Pro and to confirm your entitlement, only the following five items are sent.
- Email address
- Device identifier (a 16-character hash derived from hardware information; the original information cannot be recovered from it)
- Verification code
- Authentication token
- Purchase type (subscription / lifetime)
This communication does not occur unless you sign in. Checkout is performed by opening the payment provider's (Stripe, Inc.) page in your default browser; credit card details never pass through the Software or the Provider.
3. Cookies and Telemetry
The Software does not use cookies and does not collect usage telemetry.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
Other than the delegation to the payment provider (Stripe, Inc.) described in the previous section, the Software does not provide the information it obtains to third parties, except where required by law.
5. Deleting Your Data
Data stored on your device can be deleted from the settings screen of the app. If you uninstall the app, deleting the data directory removes it completely. If you wish to delete your account and the information associated with it, please contact us at the address below.
6. Contact
For questions about this policy, please contact support@vitworks.net or use the contact form.
7. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised in response to changes in laws or in the service. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on the website.
