How Far Does Free Go?
Automatic tracking, dashboards, the timeline, category classification, exclusion rules, manual notes, data export, and manual report generation are all included in the Free plan.
The Pro plan unlocks two things: scheduled automatic report generation, and reports enriched by vision analysis of your screenshots.
Because reports are generated by a local LLM on your device, there is no AI usage billing on any plan.
License Notes
- The Pro plan requires signing in with your email address. Enter the six-digit code that arrives by email; there is no password to set.
- One account can use Pro on one device at a time. Signing in on another device activates that device instead. Sign in again on the original device to switch back.
- Your entitlement is checked periodically. For 14 days after the last successful check you can keep using Pro even without a connection.
- Dropping back to Free never deletes or hides data you have already recorded. Only access to the premium features changes.
- Cancellation and payment method changes are handled in the payment provider's customer portal, which opens from the settings screen.
How To Use
Four steps. Once it is set up, you simply work as usual.
Install and Turn Recording On
Launch WatchScribe and switch recording on. It then lives in the tray and records while you work as usual. Launching at system startup is supported.
Prepare a Report Model
Open Model Management in Settings and download the local LLM used for report generation. Recommendations are shown based on your hardware, so you only need to pick one.
Tune Categories and Exclusions
Adjust classification rules in the category editor and register any application or site you do not want recorded as an exclusion rule. Set this up once and you rarely need to touch it again.
Get Your Report
Generate the day's report from the Reports tab. On the Pro plan it is generated automatically at a scheduled time, so yesterday's report is waiting for you in the morning. Reports export to Markdown.

No. Application names, window titles, browsing domains, screenshots, input metrics, daily reports, and category rules are stored only on your PC. The only outbound communication is the update check and, if you use Pro, sign-in, entitlement checks, and checkout. See the privacy policy for details.
Yes. Recording, visualisation, and report generation all run on your device, so it works offline. For the Pro plan, you can also keep using it offline for 14 days after the last successful entitlement check.
No. Reports are generated by a local LLM (llama-server) running on your device. Download a model from Model Management in Settings and there is no further cost per report. Recommended models are shown based on your hardware.

Install WatchScribe on the new PC and sign in with the same email address. There is nothing to deregister first. The previous PC drops to Free at its next entitlement check, but the data recorded on it remains intact.
Add the application name, window title, or domain to the exclusion rules in Settings. Excluded targets are never recorded in the first place. To pause everything temporarily, switch recording off from the tray or the dashboard.
